The Kushcare Foundation, a subsidiary of The Cush Group, through its pet project, “Project 30+30” has resolved to provide succour to 30 widows and 30 vulnerable children in celebration of the 60th birthday of Ambassador (Dr) Olumuyiwa Vic. Kushimo, the President and Founder of The Kushcare Foundation  as well as the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of The Cush Group.

In his welcome address during the birthday celebration and launching of “Project 30+30”, the celebrant, Kushimo who was clad in all white attire, disclosed that apart from God, his wife, Ambassador Adeola Kushimo remains the reason he often gives to the needy in the society.
At the event, HRM Oba Oluwadamilare Adebambo Lukman Salami, the Sebi Il Ebi of Idena Iperu Remo, ably represented by the Balogun, Alhaji A. Akadiri, was the Chairman while Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Mrs Toyin Balogun, who was represented by Mrs. Yinka Ayo-Bakare, was the Chief Launcher and Special Guest of the “Project 30+30”.
Kushimo disclosed that “Project 30+30”, is aimed at empowering 30 widows for the rest of their lives and 30 vulnerable children, particularly in the area of education and health.
According to him, “All that I am doing is not by my power, but God, and I told the commissioner that I have some vulnerable people, both widows and children, and she was kind to have supported me.
“The project we are launching today is an extraction from the Kushcare Foundation, which was inaugurated precisely on February 14, 2023 to cater for the less privileged, mostly the widows, 30 in number as well as 30 children. All the 60 that we have registered will be in our care for rest of their lives as long as resources and substances permit us.”
The Founder also disclosed that his plan is to be the first Foundation to celebrate widowers, as according to him, it is only widows that people celebrate all the time.
“Sometimes, I wonder what happened to men who lost their wives, nobody seems to look at their side and I want to assure you that this Foundation will be the first to do such in collaboration with the Omi-Titun 2.0 Agenda of Hovernor Seyi Makinde,”
While stating that he has began talks with the Govt in that regard, he also promised to submit the names of the beneficiaries of his Foundation and other women to the state Government for further empowerment.
Otunba Kushimo while speaking further hinted that the Foundation had visited some schools and provided the basic needs for  the less privileged students such as school uniforms, School sandals, writing materials and other educational relief packages.
While commending the state governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for his assistance to the Foundation, he disclosed that though all the  people may not be able to reach him, he pledged to use his goodwill with the Governor to bring good things to the masses.
However, worried by the problems being faced by women in the society most especially widows, the Oyo State government has disclosed that it is ready to collaborate with Non Governmental Organisations to provide help for women, most especially, widows to alleviate their poverty.
The state government, however called on registered NGOs to partner with the government and use their closeness to the grassroots to solve the problems of economic hardship being faced mostly by women in the society.
Mrs. Yinka Ayo-Bakare, in her lecture at the event titled, “The Roles of Ministry of Women Affairs In Alleviating The Suffering of Women,” urged women to find something doing to support their families, especially now that the economy of the country is harsh on the masses.
While enumerating the roles of the ministry, she encouraged women to embrace farming and join good associations that could assist them to secure loan from the government and agencies without hindrance.
