PDP Leaders Shun Distribution Of Palliatives By Makinde In Oyo

Prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the four local government areas of Oyo town, shunned the distribution of palliatives termed “Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery, SAfER,” in the federal constituency.

This, was despite the fact that ‘Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, was around and, reasons for such,  investigations revealed, was because the governor  sidelined the leaders in the scheme of things, especially in the distribution of political offices in the state.

Held at the ?ba Adeyemi III Arcade, Bisi Ilaka, Kameel Akinlabi, Ademola Santos and a host of others we’re conspicuously missing at the event.

Monsurat Sunmonu and council chairmen in the areas were, however, present.

Sources told our reporter that their absence is not unconnected with the way Makinde neglected them in the sharing of political positions in the ancient town.

“They were absent because the aboriginal PDP members have been sidelined in the scheme of things. How do you expect them to come when Governor Makinde doesn’t reckon with them? They are left with nothing.

“The governor doesn’t listen to any of them except Senator Sunmonu. They are angry and have resorted to watch as events unfold,” a source said.
