Days after his last State of the Union address in office, President Barack Obama had to pick favorites in a live-streamed interview (Jan. 15) with YouTube stars Destin Sandlin, Ingrid Nilsen and Adande Thorne at the White House.

The Commander-in-Chief was put to task with pressing inquiries like the state of the 2016 election, the type of pants dogs should wear or which Star Wars character he would be (Spoiler alert: it’s Han Solo) but when it comes to Drake versus Kendrick Lamar in a rap battle, the Prez offered up a clear answer.

“Gotta go with Kendrick, I’m just saying,” Obama said. “I think Drake is an outstanding entertainer but Kendrick, his lyrics, his last album was outstanding. Best album I think last year.”

This isn’t the first time Obama has stanned for the Compton rapper. In an interview with People last year, he revealed his favorite song of 2015 was Lamar’s “How Much a Dollar Cost” from the Grammy-nominated album To Pimp A Butterfly. Kendrick and Barack also recently hung out in the White House.
