Insecurity: Shafaudeen Boss, Olagoke, Urges FG To Empower Traditional Rulers … Receives Rousing Welcome In Otamokun Town

The paramount ruler of Otamokun Kingdom in Oyo State, His Royal Highness, Oba (Deacon) Samson Moronfoye Ogunbode Oyewole II, Gbadewolu I, the Olotamokun of Otamokun kingdom and the entire residents of the ancient town will never forget the grand entry of the Arole Ogun-Elu of Aare Alasa Dynasty, Professor Sabit Ariyo Olagoke, JP who paid an historical visit to his ancestral home.

Professor Olagoke, the Founder and Spiritual Head of Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide, who arrived Otamokun Town on Tuesday February 20, 2024, was welcomed by thousands of residents of the ancient town from old Elega Road, which was later renamed after him by Oba Samson Moronfoye, who was highly excited by the historic visit of the renowned lecturer, academic and respected clergyman.
While welcoming Professor Olagoke and his entourage to the ancient town, Oba (Deacon) Samson Moronfoye, called for the development of the ancient town by the sons and daughters of the town in the Diaspora, and urged them to emulate Olagoke JP by visiting home to impact positively on the town and it’s residents.
Oba Moronfoye added that “this is Iwoya, Otamokun Town, which is your source and which I believe is due to the history being told and has been verified. Therefore, I am appealing to you sir, to kindly make an unforgettable impacts on the noble town. The people of the town that migrated from Saki, who are usually praised as “Omo Saki Ile, omo ogun o rokin, Omo agbede o ro bata.”
Oba Samson however reminded Professor Olagoke of his pledges to develop Otamokun after his historic and significant impact in Ejigbo.
The monarch quoted Olagoke to have said that; “after this Ejemu projects, come next, is my source, Otamokun. Now, God has brought you and our people from Ejemu compound, Ejigbo to this place.”
While speaking at the event Alhaji Ismaeel Salaudeen (Amala) the Mogaji Esin of Aare-Alasa Dynasty, stated that what Professor Sabit Olagoke put together in Ibadan and Ejigbo will not be difficult for him to replicate in Otamokun,  while he urged the leaders and the people of Otamokun to comply with the ideologies of Rasool and ensure that love and peace reign among them so as to witness an unprecedented development in the ancient town.
Some of the places visited were the palace under construction, Ogun Shrine (Iwoya) brought from Saki and the historical graves of the ancestors of the town including that of the founder of the town and Oba of Otamokun- Oba Onipode.
Of the 10 ruling houses in Otamokun, OgunElu Ejemu was charged to take their rightful position in the process of developing in Otamokun.
Meanwhile, worried by the alarming rate of insecurity in the country, Professor Olagoke called on the Federal Government to massively empower traditional rulers across the country because of their closeness to the grassroots.
The Arole Ogun-Elu Aare Alasa Dynasty made the call while paying a thank you visit to the Olu of Songbe, His Eminence, HRM, Oba Kamil Ajadi and his counterparts; Oba Olatunbosun Adebamiji Osunkojo II, Ilufemiloye1, the Akire of Ikire-ile, Oba Olatunde Quadri Adeoye, the Oluwo Oke of Iwo-Oke and Oba Husein Muyideen Adewale, Olosuntedo.
Prof. Olagoke also called on traditional rulers to protect the integrity of the institution and work closely with the government in tackling the menace of insecurity bedevelling the country.
“The government has crippled the roles of  traditional rulers, so it is time for our traditional rulers to shun partisan politics so as to be relevant and discharge their duties of protecting their domains accordingly,” he said.
In his remarks, the paramount ruler of Songbe kingdom, Oba Kamil Ajadi, Ilufemiloye Ojelabi II, bemoaned the security system in the country and urged Nigerian politicians to remember to give back to the society that made them.
“If they did not do the right thing, they will not end well because the downtrodden masses rely on them to move the nation forward
“We should not underestimate the bandits because they have dominated everywhere in the country, which is why we must be vigilant,” he said.
