El Zakzaky’s Persecutions, Wickedness Of The Highest Order – University Professor.

Professor Dahiru Yahaya of the history department, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has attributed the longstanding detention of the Shiite leader in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky is a federal government wickedness of the highest order.

Professor Yahaya said this while briefing newsmen on Saturday in Kano.

Adding that “Shiites members are peace-loving and law-abiding citizens, but the ongoing persecutions of El-Zakzaky and his teeming followers by the federal government is a deliberate step of subduing the movement by any means necessary, which their ill-motive would not prosper”

The University Don stressed that, in view of the ailments threatening the well-being and life of Sheikh El-Zakzaky while currently in detention, it is highly imperative for the federal government to consider the request of taking him abroad to seek for urgent medical attention.

“Shiite members in Nigeria were glaringly denied their right to worship, to move freely and also prevented from voicing-out their grievances through peaceful demonstration calling for the unconditional release of leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky but instead, they were killed and maimed in broad daylight by the security operatives” he emphasised.

Professor Yahaya goes on to say that even the Idol worshippers and other various faith in Nigeria are enjoying right of worshipping and practising their beliefs without prejudice, while Shiite members are been treated as impostors in their fatherland.

The renowned historian added that it is advisable for the sake of peace and harmony to reign, the federal government must respect the previous court orders which uphold the release of the Shiekh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky unconditionally.

“Saudi Arabia was the brain behind given out these contract to destabilise Shiite movement due to its loggerhead with Iran, and Nigeria is not an exception among the countries who gave patronage to such juicy contracts of putting our movement in disarray” he assured.

Professor Dahiru Yahaya added that living in peace and harmony is what Nigerians are presently craving for, to prosper in their various endeavours and going about practising their beliefs without intimidation and stigmatisation for no obvious reason.
