In a low-key event, several trees were planted on Wednesday at the premises of Kano State Primary Health Management Board to honour the name of Bill Gates late father, Bill Gate Snr.
The event was conducted under the auspices of the Board with the collaboration of The Challenge Initiative (TCI) solely meant to honour the name of late Bill Gates Snr. the father of Bill Gates – the largest International donor in the health sector.
Affirming this during the ceremony the Executive Secretary of the board, Dr Tijjani Hussein said it’s deemed fit to immortalized his name in respect of the donations the Bill gates senior gave in inspiring Bill Gate Jnr. towards offering solid monetary backing in the health sector.
Saying that the plants would be appropriately watered and nurtured to ensure prompt maintenance, which Bill Gates Snr. assistances of would continue to remember for many immemorial years to come.
Dr Husaini advised well-meaning and affluent individuals to imitate this kindness in sponsoring health sector solely towards stemming the hurdles attached with Childbirth spacing, Polio, maternal mortality and morbidity.
While shedding more light, the Coordinator of the Challenge Initiative TCI in Kano Dr Musa Abdullahi Sufi said Bill Gate Snr. merited to be honour in all ramifications.
Adding that it was under the facade of his intellect and inspiration, the world immensely benefits from his fortune of his Son – Bill Gates.
