A former Governor of Ogun State and a National Leader of the All Progressives Party (APC), Aremo Olusegun Osoba has appealed to the party members in the state to be magnanimous in victory as Governor Dapo Abiodun prepares for his second term in office.

The former Governor made the call, when he received Governor Abiodun, His Deputy, the state APC Chairman and members of the party at his GRA, Ibara, Abeokuta residence after the Governor and the newly elected legislators have collected their Certificates of Return From the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Osoba said, “let us be magnanimous in victory, this is not the time to review whatever has happened and nobody should play the role of “if not for me,” it is for all of us and the entire state.”

“No matter what happened, in some areas, the situation that we found ourselves was beyond redemption for many people. I want to plead that the review of the election should be put on hold. We are still emotional, a review will be done thoroughly at the appropriate time,” he said.

Responding, Governor Dapo Abiodun described Osoba as a good man, his political mentor and political compass.

“Baba you are a good man, you are a father and my mentor. You have watched over us and we shall not dissappoint you,” the Governor said.

Governor Abiodun, while appreciating the party members for their support, advised them not to encourage internal wranglings, saying “God has given us our victory.”
