Abiola Adebayo Confirms Separation from Husband, Embraces Co-Parenting with Grace

Nollywood actress Abiola Adebayo has publicly confirmed her separation from her husband, Oluwaseyi Akinrinde, revealing that the two quietly parted ways over a year ago. In a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday, Adebayo disclosed that their marriage ended in April 2024 and that they have since been committed to peacefully co-parenting their son.
She marked the occasion by extending warm birthday wishes to her ex-husband, writing:
“Happy birthday to my ex-husband and baby daddy. I pray that grace will abound unto you. I pray you find peace in all your ways. May God continue to light your path and bless you beyond your expectations, in Jesus’ name.”
Then, in a candid revelation, she added,
“Yes, you heard me right! My husband and I have been separated since April last year. But we’ve chosen to maturely and peacefully co-parent our dear son, who means everything to us.”
Addressing her fans and followers, the actress expressed her regret that the marriage didn’t last, while emphasizing the importance of preserving one’s well-being:
“To everyone that feels disappointed, I’m sincerely sorry. I wished it worked, but it’s better to stay alive to tell the story. Please keep us in your prayers.”
Adebayo also opened up about the emotional challenges she has faced over the past year, sharing how difficult it has been to balance public strength with private pain:
“While I go about making other people happy during the day, my pillow is drenched with my own tears almost every night for the past 14 months.”
Despite the silent suffering, she affirmed her unshakable faith:
“But I gain strength from Christ, who loves me eternally and gave Himself for me. Let’s learn to be kind to people—you never know what they’re going through until they speak. Say unto the righteous, ‘All is well.’”
Her post quickly garnered a wave of support from fans and industry colleagues. Actress Regina Chukwu simply wrote, “Biola… it’s well,” echoing the sentiments of many who praised her vulnerability, strength, and grace.
Abiola Adebayo and Oluwaseyi Akinrinde tied the knot in April 2021 after a brief but purposeful courtship. In a 2023 interview on her YouTube channel, Adebayo shared that they got married within six months of dating, saying, “I knew what I wanted.”
Their union was blessed with a son, born via surrogacy in April 2023—a moment Adebayo has described as one of the greatest joys of her life.
Now, though the marriage has come to an end, Adebayo stands tall: a mother, a believer, and a woman navigating heartbreak with humility and faith.
