Hope Restored: Jumoke George’s Long-Missing Daughter Found After Four-Year Search

Adeola, the 41-year-old daughter of veteran Yoruba actress Jumoke George, has been found in Mali, four years after she went missing—bringing an emotional end to a long and painful search.

The actress had previously revealed the disappearance during an interview on the Talk to B show, hosted by actress Abiola Adebayo. According to Jumoke, Adeola had been living with her grandmother in Ibadan and was last seen after saying she was travelling to Lagos. Since then, all efforts to locate her had been unsuccessful.

In a heartfelt recount, Jumoke shared that Adeola recently reestablished contact, seeking forgiveness and revealing that she had travelled out of the country with friends in pursuit of better opportunities.

During the same interview, the actress opened up about her own health and financial struggles. She explained that her condition had made it impossible to honour acting jobs, forcing her to refund payments and take loans for treatment. She added that further medical tests are needed, costing around N400,000.

“There are some things that are embarrassing to say, but at this point, I have no choice,” she said tearfully. “After I became ill, I couldn’t go for a set I was invited to. Someone paid me last year, I didn’t know I would get sick. I spent the money on treatment and had to borrow to refund the person.”

She also revealed that any money she earned from occasional jobs was spent on efforts to find her missing daughter.

“My mother called one day to say Adeola hadn’t returned after saying she was coming to Lagos. That was the last we heard from her—until now,” she said.

In a recent update, host Biola Bayo confirmed that Adeola has been found in Mali and although she hasn’t yet spoken directly with her mother, Jumoke is overjoyed to know she is alive.

“I finally got to speak with Adeola,” Biola shared on Instagram. “She hasn’t called her mom, but mom is happy she’s alive.”

She also noted that Jumoke George is currently undergoing treatment at a state hospital in Lagos and is awaiting further medical evaluation.
