PETER OBI, THE MOST CORRUPT PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF ALL – JESUTEGA ONOKPASA

Published

on

In what was nothing but a most insolent dig at other presidential candidates, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, while waxing most hypocritical at a rally in Jos, asked voters to elect him and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, claiming they are the only ones who had never stolen government money nor been accused of corruption.

The narcissism, megalomania and self-absorption of this ridiculous fellow is truly mindboggling!

It was only a few years ago that it was revealed vide “The Pandora Papers” how Peter Obi had set up numerous special purpose vehicles, SPVs, and similar shell corporations under false names and other fraudulent particulars in order to conceal his financial transactions from tax authorities and anti-graft agencies!

At the time, Nigerians, otherwise a species of humanity with exceedingly short memories and even shorter attention spans, had suddenly become aware that supposedly “Mr. Clean” Obi was actually a money launderer.

Indeed, thanks to Premium Times which published “The Pandora Papers” in conjunction with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, ICIJ, a nonprofit based in Washington, D.C., we discovered that Obi is as dirty as Nigerian politicians come!

The report detailed a convoluted global web of secret offshore and obscenely corrupt financial dealings that had been kept hidden for years.

Regarding Obi, the report exposed how “the businesses he set up and operated clandestinely overseas, including in notorious tax and secrecy havens” were in total violation of Nigerian laws!

This what the “The Pandora Papers” disclosed about the “messiah” of the OBIdients!

Indeed, it was revealed that Obi had procured the services of Access International, a secrecy enabler operating out of Monaco, which assisted him in incorporating offshore entities in some of the world’s worst tax havens globally notorious for providing conduit pipes through which corrupt political elites, drug dealers and terrorists alike are known to transfer and hide stolen money and illicit funds in order to stay under the radar beyond the reach of tax authorities and prosecutors.

Obi’s political urchin of a running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, was never even actually a senator!

Funny enough, he was removed from office by the courts for rigging elections, the very worst form of corruption!

This is the person “Saint” Obi chose as running mate!

The same Peter Obi whose driver was caught ferrying 250 million naira of stolen government money in his car boot.

Indeed, the same Obi who defended secessionism on a television program in the course of which he also described Igbos as more Nigerian than other Nigerians.

The Peter Obi who has stubbornly refused to condemn the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, and its killer “unknown gunmen” slaughtering people in the South-east, even while he continues to produce beer with the Biafran flag on its logo through a private company in which he illegally invested millions of dollars of Anambra state funds!

There is no one running for the presidency in this election that is more corrupt than Peter Obi, except probably his former principal, “Mr SPV”, himself, Atiku Abubarkar of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP!

It actually makes perfect sense they are thick as thieves.

Obi even attended Atiku’s declaration to run for office this time around while he had already earlier declared, himself!

It was a masterclass of duplicity and dishonourable conduct.Of course, Obi was never actually aiming for the presidency – he was just angling to be Atiku’s running mate all over again.

When it became clear he wouldn’t get even that, he ran off to Labour to continue to pretend he was still running and to save face.

Unfortunately for him, his sugarcoated tongue has enticed a rabble of malcontents to his side whom he cannot now discard and has therefore decided to lead to certain defeat and devastating disappointment in February.

Indeed, I don’t know whether to pity the OBIdients or to pray for them, or both.

What is not in doubt is that they are in desperate need of liberation from the shackles of psychological slavery.

Incidentally, All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s personal logo represents broken shackles and they would do well to look in that direction for their freedom from what is clearly a most unwholesome imprisonment of the mind.

While the OBIdient movement has been taken over by secessionists, tribal jingoists, ethnic champions, “yahoo boys” and vandals, there are actually Nigerians of upright moral configuration in the lot.

I really do sympathize with this redeemable component of the OBIdients; they are really only disenchanted and dissatisfied Nigerians who want a better deal from government.

Unfortunately for them, they have been hoodwinked, bamboozled and hypnotized into the arms of a rabid narcissist who reminds those of us with a keen sense of history of none other than Adolf Hitler.

Fortunately for them, whatever they have been conned into believing Peter Obi has to offer this country, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has it to offer tenfold.

Where Obi has absolutely no legacy left in Anambra, Bola Tinubu’s legacy remains the rock solid foundation upon which Nigeria’s one and only megacity, Africa’s fourth biggest economy and, our nation’s undisputed center of excellence continues to flourish and thrive.

I have described Bola Tinubu as the “City Boy” who turns the village into a town, turns the town into a city, and, turns the city into a megacity.

He has an unmatched record of delivering good governance, having consistently displayed a sustained capacity for imagination and innovation in public service.

Indeed, throughout his career, Bola Tinubu has showcased an astounding ability for making things better and making better things.

In my religion we call that grace.

That is why I want him as my next President.
