10th Senate: Akpabio, Proven,Tested and Capable to lead the Senate

A group, Yoruba Consultative Forum has backed the call for the emergence of Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio as the President of the 10th Senate.

The group in a statement signed by the president, Oluwatuyi Jayeoba and general secretary, Dayo Joseph,and made available to journalist in Abuja said the events in Port-Harcourt says it all, with a vast majority of the Senator elect across party lines queuing behind him.

“Since the advent of democracy in 1999, the South East have have had the opportunity to produce the Senate President for 12 years. The South South has produced none.

“It is imperative that to promote peace and tranquility in Nigeria where every tribe will be given a sense of belonging, the South South should produce the Senate President in the 10th Assembly”

‘Again, the geographical zone that produced more votes in the south aside the South West, is South South and they should be duly compensated for their efforts” the statement said

The group added that Akpabio produced more votes for Tinubu than other contenders in the South East and South South.

“Godswill Akpabio has proven to be a dependable, team player, loyal party man that can be trusted. Above all, he was the first to step down his ambition for the President Elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu to emerge as the President.
