Security Votes, stylish way of corruptions – PDP Governorship candidate in Kano

The Kano State’s PDP gubernatorial flag bearer in the forthcoming elections, Abba Kabir Yusif, says if elected, he pledged to cancel security votes, which he described as an avenue of looting from the public treasury.

Abba made the disclosure on Saturday while briefing newsmen at an event to mark his 56 years birthday organised by a group of various Kwankwasiyya political-sects held in Kano.

He says that it is undeniably known that security votes are regarded as a looting-spree platform where the huge amounts of money provided, spent unaccounted for.

“Consequently, ending up draining through the pockets of selfish few, in their insatiable quest to self-enrichment out of public coffers,” Abba said

Abba cited that, “in 1999 when the former state governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso came on board in his first tenure he scrapped security votes, likewise in 2007 when he returned for the second tenure, he stood on his earlier opinion of using them in providing meaningful projects for the betterment of the state”

The Kano aspirant added that is glaringly obvious that the state is lagging behind on various developmental aspects such as; education, commerce, industry, agriculture and many more.

He stressed that if elected into office in the forthcoming election he will apply his wealth of experience to dealt and addressed them squarely.

In his remark, the convener of the event, Mallam Nura Maaji of Movement For Better Kano says they gathered here to rejoiced with the PDP gubernatorial flag bearer Alh. Abba Kabir Yusif for attaining 56 years of age successfully.

Maaji added that the birthday gathering dispels the rumours that Abba Kabir Yusif is too young and naive to stand for the gubernatorial candidacy of Kano State.

“Abba Kabir Yusif is a matured and well-baked politicians, who is equal to the task by attaining 56 years of age and undoubtedly acquired gentlemanly disposition,” Maaji said.

Cakes were cut, gifts accolades as well as encomium were presented to the celebrant – PDP gubernatorial aspirant Mal. Abba Kabir Yusif.

The birthday party had in attendance of supporters of PDP Kwankwasiyya-sect donning red caps signifying their political ideology.
