BET apologises to Nicki Minaj for shading her while congratulating Cardi B on her Grammy win

BET has apologised to Nicki Minaj after they posted a tweet shading her following Cardi’s Grammy win.

In a now-deleted tweet, BET retweeted an article saying Cardi B is the first solo female rapper to win best rap album. The caption for the photo read: “Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront.”

In anger, Nicki pulled her BET Experience performance. She announced that she and her label, Young Money, would not be part of the BET Experience later this summer – which is a concert series she and Cardi were booked to co-headline just days before the BET Awards in June.

Nicki called out BET for their tweet. 

BET has now released a statement revealing the offensive post was unauthorized.

The network says:

BET loves Nicki Minaj. We have supported her from the very beginning of her career and will continue to do so moving forward. Nicki has paved the way for so many performers and has solidified her place as one of the most powerful figures in the music industry.

They added:

Unfortunately the respect we have for Nicki was violated by this post that should never have been written. The post does not reflect how we feel about Nicki. And further does not reflect our company values. We deeply apologize for the hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused. We are committed to doing everything we can to address the situation.

BET also says:

We are also conducting an internal audit to assure these types of posts are not published again.  We have apologized to Nicki and her team. The post has been removed and we have taken additional appropriate action. We understand Nicki’s position and look forward to continuing our dialogue with her. Finally, we apologize to all of her fans. This should have never happened.

I faked my death because people didn’t see beauty in my talent – Skiibii

Skiibii recounted how far he has come and what made him fake his death in 2015, in an interview on the midday oasis with OAP Dotun. 

Barely a year after he left Five Star Music in 2018 to set up his own record label, Skiibii said he faked his death because he was ready for everything but people never saw beauty in his talent. 

“I was ready for this. For everything. What I feel is that people don’t know what I’m capable of. They don’t see the beauty in my talent. More bangers coming. Na dem say na hit me I no know say na hit sef” he said.

On the backlash he faced after the stunt took a negative turn, Skiibii said; 

“I was down. I picked up myself. You can’t be like this. You know the truth. Fight for it.” 

With his break-out hit with Reekado Banks and a back-to-back hit, the More Grace Music boss said he always knew he was going to be successful.

Kizz Daniel slams N100million lawsuit on Vanguard for ‘malicious publication’ (Photos)

Nigerian popstar, Kizz Daniel through his recrod label Fly Boy Inc has slammed a 100 Million Naira lawsuit on Vanguard Newspapers over what it calls a ‘malicious publication’.

Last week, the singer had called out the newspaper and also denied granting an interview which stated that he attacked celebrities for protesting against COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, who is currently enmeshed in a rape scandal.

Several media reports claimed that he granted an interview where he called celebrities ”Brainless” for attacking and protesting against Fatoyinbo.

In a letter written to Vanguard through his lawyers, Kizz Daniel is demanding a public apology and withdrawal of the publication, a written undertaking not to publish anyhting about him without confirmation and the sum of 100million naira to cover for reputational damage he has already suffered.
