A foremost socio political group, Yoruba Renaissance Forum[ YRF) has made a solemn appeal to the leadership of the National Assembly and All Progressives Congress to concede the Deputy Speakership seat to the lawmaker representing Owo/ Ose Federal Constituency in Ondo State, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe.

The group described Adelegbe as upwardly mobile personality, versatile and cerebral figure who will partner the Speaker to give the house a robust and cohesive leadership.

They made the appeal in a statement signed by Chairman of the the group, Taiwo Olaide Ogunsakin and Secretary, Akinyele Oluwasegun on monday in ondo at the end of the group’s expanded meeting, said the choice of Adelegbe was as a result of immense contributions to the successes recorded by the President Elect.

The Chairman said; two reasons were pivotal in the choice of Adelegbe. According to released results on IREV portal by INEC, Ondo State recorded huge figures for the President Elect. He worked assiduously for Tinubu in the presidential election.

“Ondo state has been relegated to the background in south west. Osun state was deputy Speaker in the past, Oyo was Majority leader, Ogun and Lagos have had their fair share of “juicy” appointments at the federal level. Ekiti had a substantive minister in this government and array of appointees in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Same cannot be said of Ondo state. The two ministers that we had in the Buhari government were “Ministers of State”. Ondo deserves something better, if for nothing else, their contributions to Asiwaju Presidency”, Ogunsakin said

Ogunsakin appealed to the leadership of the House to go for Adelegbe. He has seen it all in both private and public sector and above all, he is detribalised Nigeria who will work with various tendencies and interests in the house to unite us as a country.

“He is a lawmaker with a class, every time you read about him in the press, he is either commissioning a project or starting a fresh one. In one fell swoop, he empowered over 2000 members of his constituents. Few months to the election, he gave out over 60 cars, 180 motorcycles and other empowerment tools to them. Not to mention the life changing project that doted the landscape of his Federal Constituency”
