USA Designating Nigeria As A Country Of Particular Concern And The Threat To Invade Our Sovereignty: What We May Have To Do

By: Shehu Bashir Esq.
In order to understand the undercurrent, we must note the following:
1) The West, particularly the US are not happy about the development in our oil and gas industry and mining sector. The establishment of Dangote refinery has altered the balance in international oil markets. Nigeria is no more dependent on any western country for its refined petroleum.
2) The recently imposed 15% duty for all imported refined petroleum products was the last punch that hit the cabal and their foreign partners. Trump was not happy about that.
3) Our crude production has increased and our receivables from crude sales to some other countries have also increased.
4) US is not happy that Nigeria is joining BRICS, it is a threat to dollar dominance. South Africa faced similar threat but the SA people came together to fight the lies and imperialistic attempt to cause chaos in that country.
5) It is now a fact that the economic reforms being carried out by the present administration is waking Nigeria’s giant from slumber, we are gradually moving from a dependent economy to a more prosperous independent economy. An economically independent Nigeria is a threat to colonial scavengers.
6) Dollar has been US most important “commodity” which is openly sold in black markets. Foreign exchange dealings have been returned to ethical standard and not commodity sale anymore. Nigerians are no more in dire need of hard currency as dollar is globally losing its values.
7) As dollar is losing its global values, mineral resources not flowing to US as of before, United States is confused like a wounded lion. It is looking for a scapegoat country to vent its anger on. The strategy is to get Nigeria to stop its resounding reforms and return to dependent economic culture. That agenda also includes balkanization of our current geographical state as a nation.
*WHAT THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD DO IMMEDIATELY:*
1) President Tinubu should, as a matter of urgency, declare national state of emergency on terrorism. In doing this, the following steps should also be taken:
I) immediate aerial and land attacks on terrorists cells in and around everywhere they are in the country. No need to spare anyone in sight carrying guns. The full strengths of our armed forces should be deployed IMMEDIATELY.
II) increased surveillance of our space to monitor airdropping of weapons by some foreign interest to the terrorists. This should also include increased land border patrols and operations.
III) Amendment of anti-terrorist and anti-banditry laws to impose capital punishment on offenders. Armed robbery cannot be capital punishment and terrorism will not. They both aim to kill people.
IV) What Iraq did to wipe out ISIS should be done in Nigeria. All the surrounding villages where terrorists are hiding should be evacuated by the civilians living around there. There should be a full scale onslaught against the militants.
V) International media should be invited to witness the operations so that they can all see the determination of Nigeria government to eliminate terrorism in the country.
2) Appointments of ambassadors to foreign nations as representatives of the country should be made immediately. They have a lot to do in engaging with these nations on the true state of things in Nigeria.
3) A very powerful delegation should be sent to the United States government, including the Congress, to meet with the relevant authorities in order to present the true situation of things in Nigeria. This delegation should include all the reverend fathers and pastors who have all contributed to the lies on “christian genocide” but who are now enjoying under this administration.
4) Nigeria government should as a matter of urgency open immediate negotiation discussions with the US government. A proposal for military support to fight terrorism should be sent but this should not include an infringement on Nigeria’s sovereignty.
5) A very strategic business/trade partnership proposal should also be sent to the US. The standard should be as Nigeria will engage with any other foreign nation without compromising our own economic interests and benefits.
6) The Yuen to Naira agreement signed by the Chinese government and Nigeria government should also take off immediately. The quick implementation of that policy will fill up the shortage of any supply needs incase of any economic sanction against Nigeria. It may also allow China to take Nigeria as a country of interest, thereby discouraging US from taking any direct military action. Diplomacy is all about negotiation without subjugation.
7) Nigeria Government should call for immediate meeting of the OAU and form a very formidable voice to condemn the potential incursion on Africa countries by some Western interest and send a powerful message to the US. The AU can also use that diplomacy to engage non-African countries on future partnership, moving forward, which should be based on mutual respect devoid of slavish threat.
8 ) Nigeria should make a very strong statement to the UN General Assembly against this stigmatization. It should insist that Nigeria security challenge is not religion based just like gun violence is not racially based in America. If Israel is not designated as a Country of Particular Concern for committing genocide against the Muslims in Palestine, no such lies should be told against Nigeria.
9) A very special invitation should be extended to the UN Special Committee to come to Nigeria for on the field situation study. This will also include the need for the government to brief that committee on the steps being taken to wipe out terrorism in the country.
10) After all said and done, when the dust settles down, Nigeria should scale up its military capabilities so that it will not be constantly threatened by any foreign nation.
11) In doing that, there should be increased and improved fight against corruption. Serious and pragmatic measures should be taken to have a corruption-free nation.
12) Lastly, since we are country of prayers, notwithstanding the division they are trying to push on our head, Mr. President should engage the intervention of clergies, Alfas, Mallams and Pastors alike to pray for the country’s security, unity and peace.
If Mr. President has a special request from God, please, visit our Ilorin Mallams, they can seek from God what we want and it shall be granted. And I am not joking.
