UBA’s Abiodun Coker Honoured As “Future Leader In Media Management” At Industry Summit/Awards

Abiodun Coker, Media & External Relations Lead at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has been awarded the prestigious title of “Future Leader in Media Management” at the 6th edition of The Industry Summit/Awards, a premier event organized by The Industry Newspaper, West Africa’s leading brand marketing publication.
The award ceremony, held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, celebrates professionals who are shaping the future of brand marketing and strategic communications across the region. This year’s jury, chaired by renowned broadcast journalist and TVC News Business Editor, Mr. Tolulope Ogunjobi, recognized Coker’s exceptional achievements in the field of public relations throughout 2024.
Coker’s leadership in managing UBA’s high-profile 2024 Rights Issue successfully concluded on December 24, 2024 as well as his strategic execution of the bank’s 75th Anniversary Campaign, were both described as “commendable and exceptional.” These milestones were widely praised for their precision, impact, and media resonance, highlighting Coker’s mastery of integrated communications and stakeholder engagement.
A former award-winning financial journalist with BusinessDay Newspapers, Coker transitioned into public relations and quickly rose through the ranks, taking on key roles at leading firms such as BD Consult Ltd and Quadrant. His journalism background, combined with over eight years of frontline communications experience, has positioned him as a trusted voice and a force in corporate media strategy.
“Abiodun Coker’s achievements in 2024 are a beacon for even greater accomplishments,” the jury noted. “His professionalism and strategic mindset make him one of the key communication experts to watch in 2025 and beyond.”
His colleagues in the media and communications industry have lauded his deep understanding of brand storytelling and reputation management skills that continue to elevate UBA’s corporate visibility across Africa and beyond.
Coker’s recognition at The Industry Summit/Awards further solidifies his status as one of Nigeria’s most dynamic and forward-thinking communications leaders. As he continues to shape UBA’s narrative on the continental stage, his trajectory suggests a clear path toward future leadership in the broader communications industry.
A consummate team player and strategic thinker, Coker is not just building a career, he’s redefining the media management landscape with every move.
