President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has pledged sweeping developmental interventions for Anambra State and the Southeast, promising inclusion in national infrastructure plans and deeper federal collaboration for progress and unity.

Speaking at a civic reception at Alex Ekwueme Square during a landmark visit to Anambra, President Tinubu assured residents of the federal government’s commitment to resolving persistent issues, including erosion, abandoned road projects, and the state’s omission from critical national master plans.

“Our diversity must lead to prosperity. We must work together to be a united Nigeria,” Tinubu declared, emphasizing a renewed spirit of national integration.

Responding to Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s calls for support, Tinubu vowed to complete key federal roads connecting Anambra to Kogi State, incorporate the state into the National Rail Master Plan, and address its exclusion from the National Gas Master Plan. He also affirmed federal backing for ecological projects aimed at combating erosion.

The President was conferred the title “Dikesimba of Anambra State” by traditional rulers, led by Igwe Chidubem Iweka, and also recalled his earlier 2005 chieftaincy title, “Omenife of Awka.”

During the visit, Tinubu commissioned multiple landmark projects, including the Emeka Anyaoku Institute for International Studies and Diplomacy at Nnamdi Azikiwe University and the expansive Solution Fun City. Statues of five revered Anambra figures, including Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chinua Achebe, were also unveiled.

Governor Soludo hailed the visit as “historic and consequential,” underscoring ideological alignment between the federal and state governments. He lauded federal initiatives like the Enugu-Onitsha Road rehabilitation and Second Niger Bridge access roads as transformative for the region.

“Anambra stands with you—not just in support, but in shared conviction,” Soludo said.

Prominent figures including Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Lady Ada Chukwudozie, and Sir Emeka Offor echoed strong support for Tinubu’s leadership and a united, inclusive Nigeria
