They’ve Never Seen Anything Like It!

Do you actually think marketing his credentials for a deserving re-election is a sign of panic? You still have a lot to learn. Mere access to idle keypads and some cheap data isn’t a means to an end. The importance it confers on you exists only in your head. The truly engaging minds don’t notice you exist. Sorry that hurts.

There are a few things you have to concede to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. As a governor, with a frontline presidential candidate from his state in the race and in big play, Sanwo-Olu already knew he had about five categories of elections to run, including his.

They are the presidential, the National Assembly (Senate and House of Representatives), Governorship, and State Assembly. He isn’t only identifying with each of the party’s candidates fielded for these categories; he led and still leading the campaigns of the remaining ones as well as fund them to an extent.

Sanwo-Olu was everywhere campaigning with the now president-elect, Bola Tinubu, until the presidential and national assembly elections were over. He barely had time for his election. How many of your preferred governorship picks did you see going everywhere with their presidential candidates except when they came to campaign in their states? They only rode on their coattails l. It’s not anything unusual, though.

However, with the presidential poll in the bag, the need for Sanwo-Olu to cover lost grounds was common sense. How does doing that amount to panic? Of course, whenever the anti-intellectuals speak, the intellectuals already know where they’re headed.

Thriving on inanity and espousing tawdry ideas without any solid foundation is the ideology underpinning the worldview of our new age “bosses”, who because of the advancement in technology think they’re better than everyone else, including those who raised them, both at home and in school.

I would think that as a good leader, Sanwo-Olu considers everyone important and critical to his reelection. Going places and approaching everyone is beyond humility in power. It is just the right thing to do. In addition, it speaks to strength in leadership.

The Americans call it retail politics, and no other approach does it better. But if you have a better idea, let’s hear it. There’s still a week window to run with your superb intervention, even though your candidates aren’t doing anything extraordinary. Jokers!
