“Talk Is Cheap, Facts Are Sacred” — Ex-Bauchi SSG Kashim Dares Gov Bala To Court, Denies Fraud Claims

Former Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, has firmly denied allegations of fraud levelled against him, insisting that at no point during his tenure was he indicted, investigated, or queried by any government institution before his resignation.
Kashim, in a statement issued at the weekend, was reacting to claims by Governor Bala Mohammed that he was removed from office over alleged fraudulent activities, describing the assertion as “unfortunate, misleading, and entirely untrue.”
“At no time during my tenure as Secretary to the State Government was I indicted, queried, investigated, or found culpable of any act of fraud or financial impropriety,” Kashim said. “No panel of inquiry, audit report, law enforcement agency, or anti-corruption body has ever established, alleged, or even insinuated that I engaged in fraudulent conduct while in office.”
He challenged Governor Mohammed to substantiate the claims before a competent court of law, stressing that his exit from office was not based on any finding of wrongdoing.
“For the avoidance of doubt, my exit from office was not predicated on any finding of misconduct. I served the government and people of Bauchi State with diligence, transparency, and fidelity to the law, and I remain proud of my record in public service,” he stated.
Kashim added that he remains ready, at any time, to render a full account of his stewardship as SSG to any competent authority or to the Nigerian public.
Describing the allegations as a “blatant distortion of facts” and a “cowardly deflection of issues,” he warned that projecting false narratives against individuals who have devoted years to public service undermines fairness, accountability, and truth in public discourse.
He disclosed that he would soon address the media to comprehensively clarify the issues and present verifiable facts to the public.
“Talk is cheap, facts are sacred,” Kashim concluded.
