Sheik Muhideen Bello Appeals To Muslims To Imbibe Lessons Of Ramadan …As OPC New Era, Oluyole LG Organises Ramadan Lecture

A popular Islamic cleric, Sheik Muhideen Ajani Bello has urged Muslims all over the world to imbibe the lessons learnt during the ongoing Ramadan in order to seek the face and forgiveness of the Almighty Allah even after the end of the Holy Month.

Sheik Bello, who stated this while delivering a lecture at the annual Ramadan lecture of Oodua Peoples  Congress, OPC New Era, Oluyole Local Government, urged Muslims all over the world to use the lessons of Ramadan  in their day to day activities.
According to Sheik Bello, Ramadan period is characterised by total submission to God, self denial as well as abstinence from sin and other vices.
He however, stressed the need for every Muslim to sustain the abstinence from sins and other vices during Ramadan period, while upholding the teachings of Holy Prophet Mohammed.
In his words: “Steadfastness and total submission to Allah will make the society habitable to all and devoid of war, hostility, rancour, poverty and other calamities.
“We should continue to show love, forgiveness and respect to one another while the lessons of Ramadan must reflect in our daily lives.”
He commended the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC New Era, under the Chairman of Comrade  Bashir Kolawole in Oluyole Local Government, for deeming it to organise such yearly lectures.
“I was thinking that coming here today would be for exhibition of charms, but I’m surprised that OPC  can organise this kind of a peaceful Ramadan lecture devoid of vices. May the Almighty  be with you all,” he said.
While speaking to journalists after the program, the National Publicity Secretary of the OPC New Era, who is the highest ranking officer in the State, Comrade Adesina Akinpelu, said that the essence of organising the annual Ramadan lecture is to show that OPC is for everyone irrespective of religious beliefs.
“Contrary to what some people think, OPC is not against any religion.  We have members who are Christians, Muslims  and traditional religion worshippers. There is no discrimination whatsoever in OPC,” he said.
Comrade Akinpelu who commended all militant groups, Yoruba self-determination groups, who attended the event in large number, assured them that the era of molestation and killing one another has gone.
“As I’m talking to you today, I’m championing a cause that will prevent shedding of innocent blood in Yorubaland and beyond.
“Whatever group or association you’re; I Comrade Adesina Akinpelu will fight for your legitimate right under the law of the land. Gone are the days where we ignorantly kill ourselves under the guise of group or association.
“Some of us, who have witnessed such era are now coming together to resist and prevent shedding of innocent blood under any guise. Anyone who sheds innocent blood in Yorubaland will die prematurely,” he said.
Also speaking, the organiser of the event, who is also a member of the state executive of the OPC and Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Comrade Bashir Kolawole said that the Ramadan lecture has become a yearly programme of OPC New Era.
According to him, he and his members at Oluyole Local Government will continue to give back to the society in positive ways.
“We thank God for the successful hosting of this year’s Ramadan lecture and awards presentation. The large turn out at this year’s programme is something we are happy about and we will continue to do our best to improve,” he said.
Comrade Kolawole, who used the occasion to thank and appreciate all Yoruba militants and self-determination groups, who attended in their large number, said that they will all work together to bring peace and development to Yorubaland.
The event also had in attendance many self-determination Yoruba groups that include OPC Fasheun, Agbekoya Solidarity, I.Y.F, LLVG, Agbekoya farmers, FYCC, Soludero, OPC Gani Adams, Ifenisese, O.S.V.G, Ekun Oodua, Agbekoya Peace and Unity. Agbekoya Warrior, Kobolese, I.R.O.D, O.L.M and others.
Also, the event witnessed presentation of awards to Hon Tolulope Sadipe Akande, a member of the House of Representatives from Oluyole Constituency, Hon Olumide Akinlade, S.A to Governor Seyi Makinde, Comrade (Chief) Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Sunday Igboho and Hon Maruff Adebayo a.k.a Elelubo.
