Senator Yar’Adua Reaffirms His Loyalty To APC …Says I’m Still Committed To Tinubu Agenda

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, has firmly denied rumours of his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming his loyalty to the ruling party and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists on Sunday, the lawmaker described recent media reports linking him with a defection as “false, misleading and mischievous.”
He urged the public to disregard the speculation, stressing that not every individual bearing the Yar’Adua surname is politically connected to him.
“I remain a loyal and committed member of the APC,” Senator Yar’Adua stated. “These reports are nothing more than political mischief designed to sow confusion and disunity. I am focused on legislative duties and working with my colleagues to support the agenda of the APC-led federal government.”
The Katsina-born senator, who also chairs the Northern Senators Forum, praised President Tinubu’s performance over the past two years, citing increased allocations to states and local governments, infrastructure investment, and expanded security recruitment efforts as signs of positive change.
“As political leaders, it is our duty to support the President’s reforms to ensure the ordinary Nigerian feels their impact,” he added. “I will continue to work across party lines to promote unity, progress, and prosperity for our nation.”
Senator Yar’Adua’s remarks come amid a wave of political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, fueling speculation about the movement of key northern figures. His clarification is seen as an effort to douse tension within party ranks and reinforce stability.
