President Tinubu Honours Aviation Minister With Award For Excellence In Aviation Sector Reforms

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conferred the prestigious Excellence in Aviation Sector Reforms Award on the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, in recognition of his outstanding leadership, transformative reforms, and unwavering commitment to repositioning Nigeria’s aviation sector for global competitiveness.
The honour was bestowed during the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS), held on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja. NEAPS, a flagship initiative of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), is designed to encourage, celebrate, and honour exceptional stewardship in Nigeria’s public service.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser On Media and Communications to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Tunde Moshood, dated Monday December 8.
Presenting the award plaque to the Aviation Minister on behalf of President Tinubu, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, commended Keyamo for spearheading reforms that have strengthened safety, improved consumer protection, enhanced infrastructure, stimulated industry growth, and restored investor confidence in Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem.
The event also celebrated several distinguished public service leaders who have demonstrated excellence in their respective fields. Other notable award recipients included: Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation – Excellence in Public Communication and Transparency, Ola Olukoyede, Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) – Excellence in Integrity and Anti-Corruption Leadership, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), Chairman, NDLEA – Excellence in Drug Control Leadership and Public Safety Reform, and Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller-General, Nigeria Customs Service – Excellence in Revenue and Customs Administration among others.
These recognitions underscore President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to promoting a culture of accountability, transparency, and high performance across Nigeria’s public institutions.
The 2025 NEAPS ceremony was graced by top government officials, captains of industry, members of the diplomatic community, and key stakeholders from across the public service landscape.
