President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of four ambassador-designates, among the 68 confirmed by the Senate last December.
The President confirmed Ambassador Ayodele Oke as the ambassador-designate to France, and Colonel Lateef Are as the ambassador-designate to the United States of America.
Also approved by President Tinubu is Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, former ambassador to South Korea, who will serve as high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom. Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, former governor of Kebbi State, is the ambassador-designate to Turkey, where the President is scheduled to commence a state visit next week.
In a memo to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Tinubu instructed the ministry to formally notify the governments of the four countries in accordance with established diplomatic procedures.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, noted that these postings reflect the administration’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement worldwide.
