PRESIDENCY: TINUBU HALE AND HEARTY

The Presidency has allayed concerns over the health of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following a brief incident during his ongoing state visit to the Republic of Turkey.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Ankara, the Presidency clarified that the President remains hale and hearty, contrary to speculations triggered by a momentary stumble during the official welcome reception accorded him by Turkish authorities.
According to the statement, the incident was not health-related but was caused by a poorly laid blue carpet at the venue of the reception. It stressed that President Tinubu did not sustain any injury and immediately continued with his scheduled activities.
“Mr President is in excellent health and high spirits,” the Presidency assured, noting that the brief slip should not be misconstrued or sensationalised.
The statement further disclosed that President Tinubu has since resumed his official duties and is currently engaged in a bilateral meeting with senior Turkish government officials. The discussions are expected to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and strategic relations between Nigeria and Turkey.
President Tinubu and his Turkish counterpart are also scheduled to address a joint press conference at the conclusion of the bilateral talks.
The Presidency urged members of the public to disregard unfounded rumours and rely on verified information from official sources, reaffirming the President’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s foreign relations and national interests during the visit.
