PDP calls for investigation into crash of Osinbajo’s chopper
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for a “thorough” investigation into the crash of the helicopter conveying Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
In a statement on Saturday, the party said expressed shock over the incident which occured in Kabba, Kogi state.
Osinbajo was embarking on a campaign trip to the state when the chopper crash-landed.
He came out unhurt, and immediately continued his business in the state, receiving a warm welcome from residents as his team drove through the town.
Reacting late Saturday, Kola Ologbondiyan, PDP spokesman, said the party is grateful to God that the vice-president survived the crash.
“The party however called for a thorough investigation into the traumatic incident adding that the safety of our leaders, and of course, all Nigerians, must be guaranteed, especially at this critical time,” he said in a statement.
“The PDP urges all Nigerians irrespective of creed, ethnicity and political affiliation, to continue to pray for God’s continued intervention in our national life.”
The management of the helicopter said the crash was caused by “unusual weather conditions”.
