Oyo NUJ Press Week: Adebayo Emerges Champion Of Table Tennis, Draft

Chairman of Correspondents’ Chapel of the Oyo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr Raji Adebayo has emerged the winner of the table tennis and draft competitions.

Raji emerged as the winner of the two games during the sports day, which was part of the activities to mark the 2023 NUJ Press Week.
The sports day was sponsored by the immediate past minister of youths and sports, Chief Sunday Akin Dare.
It featured road walk from NUJ Press Centre to G. Allen through Oke Bola and Olubadan Stadium and back to the press centre, indoor games such as Ayo Olopon, Table Tennis. Draft and Ludo among others.
Raji, the Oyo State Correspondent of the Daily Independent Newspapers, beat NUJ Secretary, Sola Oladapo in a tough and tension soaked come back two sets after losing first game, 11-9, 9-11, 7-11 at the final after defeating Seun Falomo of Galazy at the Semi final to emerge winner of the table tennis competition.
In draft, Raji floored Cosmos Oni, a former National Vice President of the NUJ to emerge winner.
Sunday Dare was represented by Chief Olawale Ademola, a frontline politician in Oyo State and a member of the Governing Council Board Member of the Centre for Management Development.
Dare, who was the Chairman of the Veterans Day, which he physically attended, said that he was happy to be part of the event, which according to him, is a must do for fitness and mental alertness.
He urged journalists to always ensure that they engage in sporting activities and exercise regularly.
Chairman of the Oyo State NUJ, Comrade Ademola Babalola, in his address, said that the essence of the road walk is to make the journalists  keep fit, adding that the game is meant to promote love and unity among the journalists in the state.
Babalola then urged members to always engage in one form of exercise or the other.
