Oyo NNPP Urges Nigerians To Disregard Allegations Made Against Kwankwaso By United States of America
Rising from it’s first state executive meeting, the Oyo State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has called on Nigerians to disregard the allegation against the former presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of being a sponsor of terrorism by the United States of America, USA, saying that the allegation was meant to tarnish his political image.
The Oyo State Chairman of the party, Hon Anthony Sunday Makinde, disclosed this after the first state executive meeting during their inauguration in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Hon Makinde stated that the allegation was arrived at after politicians tried all means to woo Kwankwaso to leave the NNPP, which he refused.
He disclosed that Alhaji Kwankwaso refused all attempts to convince him to dump the NNPP, noting that the party remain the only one without any crisis ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, “The allegation was a plot to weaken Kwankwaso’s political strength ahead of the 2027 elections. Everybody knows him to be tolerant on religion, and that he relates very well with both Muslims and Christians. We even attended some church programs together when he came to Ibadan.
“He is a peace loving leader, who has youth development as his priority, he is the largest trainer of the youths in Nigeria. He gave scholarship to many students, even down to Oyo State.”
Hon. Makinde however, assured members of the party, who may wish to contest for any position in the next election, that there will not be any kind of imposition, most especially when displaced politicians adopt the party as their last resort.
He also stated that the door of the NNPP is open to any politician from other political parties ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, the Deputy Chairman of the party in the state, Mr. Kunle Bamidele urged the members of the party to represent Alhaji Musa Kwankwaso well at all their wards meetings so as to let him know that the party is intact in Oyo State.
He noted that Hon. Makinde has been spending his resources to finance the party alongside other executive members.
He also stated that the party at the national level should remember Oyo State and their loyal members ahead of the 2027 elections.
The woman leader of the party in the state, Adebayo Dasola urged all the members of the party to be calm and be patient, saying that the future of the party is bright because many people are still going to join the party.
She also commended Hon. Makinde for his financial support to the party since their inauguration.
“We need to commend our Chairman, Hon. Makinde, who has been supporting the party and spending fortunes to sustain the party,” she said.
A stalwart of the party, Hon. Orosiji Adewale, who doubles as an aspirant for Egbeda Federal Constituency for the House of Representatives, who was commended for his consistent financial support, pledged more support for the members of the party.
He stated that his priority will be massive empowerment of the youths and women.
“My programme is to do massive empowerment for the youths and women if I am elected into the House of Representatives,” he said.
