Owode Onirin: Four Police Officers Dismissed Over Alleged Killing Of Seven Traders

Four police officers have been dismissed from services over their alleged involvement in the killing of seven traders at Owode Onirin in Lagos State.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, confirmed the dismissal of the four police officers to reporters.
CP Jimoh told reporters at Ikeja Police Officers’ Mess on Thursday that investigation is ongoing into the Owode Onirin killings.
He said the dismissed officers, brought from Nasarawa State by the principal suspect, simply identified as Ariori, were involved in the unlawful killings.
He assured the public of justice, citing ballistic and autopsy reports guiding prosecution.
He said: “This matter has not been swept under the carpet.
“And we want the public and all the families of the victims to know that nobody can stop us from ensuring that justice is done.
“We will leave no stone unturned and will not be intimidated by anyone.
“All suspects will be prosecuted, and the courts remain open to hear every case.”
The Commissioner emphasised that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to its constitutional duty of maintaining law and order, and no individual or group can obstruct the course of justice.
He explained that 98 percent of the investigation is done, and the police will keep taking action to protect Lagos State.
Jimoh urged residents and traders to stay alert, assuring them that the police are committed to safety and justice.
Recall that the incident happened in August 2025 during a clash between land grabbers and traders at the Owode-Onirin area of the state.
