Leader of the Centre for Religious Cooperation and Tolerance, CRCT, who doubles as the Founder and Spiritual Head and Grand Imam of Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide, Alhaji (Professor) Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP, has called for the integration of Mogajis and Baales (village heads or community leaders), who he said are closer to the people of the grassroots, if the government is truly sincere about distributing palliatives to the masses.

Professor Olagoke said that identifying low income earners is basic in distributing palliatives.
The Arole Ogun -Elu of Aare Alasa dynasty made this known, while receiving members of the Hands of Love Family, who paid a courtesy visit on him in his expansive office in Wakajaye, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, recently.
The Islamic cleric specifically urged the Federal Government to integrate the Mogajis, Baales and local government administrators if they truly want to succeed in catering for the needs of the masses.
Olagoke noted that there is need for proper documentation and record keeping through village and community leaders as well as local government administrators to achieve the aim of ending the high level of poverty in the nation presently.
He stressed that the lacuna or lapses in the efforts of the immediate past administration should be identified and perfected for better performances.
The renowned cleric urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to look into the method of distributing palliatives by the administration of former president Muhammadu Buhari and perfect it through documentation, record keeping and statistical measure or verification so that they could get directly to those who really need them.
“If the government wants to talk about palliatives, documentation matters while there is also the need to have sincerity of purpose to ensure proper distribution of the items to the masses,” he said.
Earlier in her address, the Founder of Hands of Love Family,  Mrs. Gloria Ukagwu, called for the collaboration of the government on the activities of the organisation and thanked Professor Olagoke for honouring the group and for his acceptance to be their Patron.
“Sir, we have heard a lot about you and today we have the privilege of meeting you and you have proven that you are a man of integrity and honour.
“We pray that God will give you long life and good health to serve humanity and to enjoy the fruits of your labour,” she said.
Mrs. Ukagwu however expressed her gratitude to Professor Olagoke for accepting to be a Patron of the group as well as for agreeing to deliver a lecture to inspire the youths, people living with disabilities and single mothers  at the Liberty Stadium Ibadan on Saturday November 18, 2023 during her birthday celebration.
“Like I always tell people, I prefer to celebrate my birthday with the poor instead of throwing a lavished party,” she said.
She also thanked Olagoke for the warm reception given to the group during the visit and for accepting the family on behalf of the downtrodden, who might not have the opportunity of meeting him.
Reacting, Professor Olagoke expressed happiness with the fact that Ukagwu and him were born in the month of November, which he said is the sacred month of heroes and heroines.
In separate interviews after the visit,  Olagoke and Ukagwu urged the government to inject vocational trainings into school curriculum so as to meaningfully engage and equip students to be viable future leaders.
Prof. Olagoke called for the intervention of the government on the provision of recreation centers for senior citizens and for the youth, where they could be meaningfully engaged in developing skills.
Olagoke will be officially decorated as a patron of the family on November 18, 2023 during the celebration of the birthday of Mrs. Ukagwu, who was born on November 16, while Prof. Olagoke was born on November 10.
In another development, the celebrated cleric would be honored by the National Youth Council, Oyo State Chapter as a Pillar of Tolerance alongside other dignitaries on November 16, 2023 at CRCT Wakajaye, where he will deliver a lecture on the theme of the 2023 International Tolerance Day Celebration; “Tolerance: A means to foster peace in a multifaceted society.”
