Ojulari Vows Strategic Collaboration To Drive Oil Sector Growth

The newly appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has pledged to foster strategic partnerships aimed at accelerating growth and efficiency in the oil and gas sector.
Ojulari made this known on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, in Abuja. The visit marks one of Ojulari’s first official engagements since assuming office, setting a tone of collaboration and shared responsibility in the execution of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s energy mandate.
Speaking during the meeting, Ojulari emphasized that the success of NNPC Ltd. will depend heavily on alignment with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Ministry of Finance, and other critical institutions.
“We are here with a mindset of partnership,” Ojulari said. “Partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, with the Ministry of Finance, and with all other key stakeholders. Our goal is to bridge gaps, foster alignment, and move forward with a united front. Antagonism benefits no one; collaboration is how we win.”
In response, Senator Lokpobiri welcomed the GCEO and expressed confidence in the capacity of NNPC Ltd.’s new leadership team. He described the current management lineup as arguably the most competent in the company’s history and urged them to turn their reputation into tangible results.
“Now is the time to translate that reputation into measurable outcomes, especially in increasing crude oil production and ensuring that the sector delivers value to the Nigerian people,” Lokpobiri stated.
The Minister pledged his full support and affirmed his commitment to working closely with Ojulari and his team to provide the enabling environment needed for success.
The meeting underscores a renewed drive toward unity and performance in Nigeria’s energy sector. Analysts say the collaborative tone between the NNPC and the Ministry of Petroleum could signal a new era of reform and accelerated development in the country’s vital oil industry.
