Ogun Declares Public Holiday For Voters Registration Exercise
The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun (MFR) has declared Tuesday July 26, 2022 as a work free day in the state.
According to a statement signed and issued by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Kunle Somorin, the work free day is to enable the residents of the state obtain their Permanent Voters Registration Cards (PVCs) to participate actively in next year’s general elections.
The Governor said, “as an inclusive participatory and accountable government, the role of PVCs to the citizens cannot be over-emphasised.”
Governor Abiodun therefore urged all the eligible voters in the state to seize the opportunity of the work free day to go to their various wards, communities, constituencies and local government areas to register, fill the claims and objection forms or to transfer their PVCs where necessary.
It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Sunday July 31 as the closing date for the collection of PVCs.
