Contrary to an initial report in the media, the Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi in Lagos, HRM Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi (Kusenla III) tested negative to the dreaded Coronavirus aka COVID-19, which has continued to spread all over the country and the world like wildfire.

The COVID-19 test result of Oba Ademola Elegushi was dated 1st of July, 2020 and it was titled; “Virological Screening Test For COVID-19 Outbreak.”

The result, which was exclusively obtained by First Weekly Magazine, was signed by the Director, LSB, Dr. W.B Mutiu and the Laboratory Manager, Dr. M.A Bankole of the Lagos State Biobank, Directorate of Epidemiology, Biosecurity & Global Health, Ministry of Health.

Oba Elegushi was spotted with the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a visit to the family of the late former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi at the family residence in Ibadan, Oyo State over the weekend.

It will be recalled that Senator Ajimobi died of complications of Coronavirus in June and he has since been buried.

However, two other prominent Obas in the state were not so lucky as they were said to have tested positive to the virus.

They are the Oba of Lagos, HRM, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, and the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, HRM Oba Kabiru Shotobi.

Sources revealed that Ayangburen, who is said to be diabetic, is on a ventilator and both monarchs were said to be receiving treatments in their palaces due to their exalted positions.

There was a suspicion that the monarchs acquired the virus at the installation of the new Oniru of Iruland, Oba AbdulWasiu Gbolahan Lawal about a month ago.
