NUJ FCT To Honour Moji Danisa As Trailblazer In Tabloid Journalism

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has announced that it will honour renowned journalist and media entrepreneur, Mrs. Moji Danisa, with the prestigious “Trailblazer in Tabloid Journalism Award.”
In a statement signed by the Secretary of Council, Jide Oyekunle, the NUJ described Danisa as a fearless and innovative journalist who has significantly shaped the landscape of tabloid journalism in Nigeria through her investigative work, compelling storytelling, and entrepreneurial drive.
“Rising quickly through the ranks to become a sub-editor and eventually launching her own media ventures, Moji has demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation in storytelling that resonates widely with the public,” the statement read.
Known for her fearless reporting and commitment to uncovering truths that matter, Danisa has earned respect across the Nigerian media landscape. Her work, which cuts across investigative journalism, television presenting, production, scriptwriting, and documentary filmmaking, has consistently blended rigorous journalism with popular appeal.
“Her ability to blend investigative rigor with popular appeal has set new standards in tabloid journalism, inspiring a generation of journalists to pursue impactful, audience-centered reporting,” Oyekunle noted.
The Council emphasized that the award not only recognizes Danisa’s contributions as a media pioneer but also celebrates her as a “queen of the craft,” who has transformed tabloid journalism into a potent platform for truth, entertainment, and social change.
In addition to her journalistic achievements, Danisa’s entrepreneurial acumen has earned her several prestigious accolades, solidifying her influence both within and beyond the newsroom.
The NUJ FCT Council also used the occasion to call for more women to follow in Danisa’s footsteps, urging those who have veered off course to seek redirection and embrace a renewed commitment to truth and accountability.
“Congratulations Dear Ma,” the statement concluded.
The award ceremony is part of a broader initiative by the Council to honour distinguished leaders and media professionals who have made lasting impacts in their fields.
