NNPC Ltd. Raises Alarm Over Coordinated Sabotage Campaign

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has sounded the alarm over what it describes as a “coordinated sabotage campaign” targeting its leadership and reform agenda.

In a strongly worded public notice issued on June 27, 2025, the company said it has uncovered a network of “known and faceless actors” allegedly working both inside and outside the organization to discredit its management and derail ongoing transformation efforts.

According to the statement, the syndicate is behind a wave of “lies, fabricated reports, and scandalous misinformation” aimed at misleading the public and creating distrust around the company’s operations.

“These are calculated efforts by those who feel threatened by reform, transparency, accountability, and change,” the management declared, describing the campaign as a direct attempt to obstruct President Bola Tinubu’s mandate to reposition the NNPC into a corruption-free, performance-driven energy company.

NNPC Ltd. warned of a possible “surge of defamatory content” in the coming weeks, insisting that it would not be distracted from its mission of transformation.

“We remain undeterred. The transformation is underway, and no amount of sabotage will stop it,” the statement emphasized.

The company also called on its staff, stakeholders, and Nigerians at large to “stay focused and ignore the noise,” assuring that the leadership remains committed to reform and national progress.

The notice, signed by the NNPC Ltd. management, comes amid heightened public scrutiny of the oil and gas sector and ongoing institutional reforms within the company.
