Nigerian Billionaire, Femi Matthew Egbeoluwa, Wife, Murdered In Ikeja Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the assassination of a couple in the state; Engineer Femi Matthew Egbeoluwa and, wife, Funmi.

They were reportedly killed by unidentified gunmen, who broke into their home at 1, Adefolu Drive, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos between last Friday night and Saturday morning.

Preliminary police investigation revealed that they were killed by their driver and househelp after stealing the sum of £5,000 the deceased budgeted for their trip abroad for Femi’s medicals.

Nigerians were however, advised to be security conscious in employing domestic staff.

They were further advised to always do background checks on whom they want to take as housemaid and drivers, get their Biometric data capturing done by the DSS or NSCDC and others.

Nigerians were also advised to always study their mood and seek intelligent security advice on them.

With the rising cases of domestic workers killing their principals, it was also stated that it is necessary if people can avoid using them.

They were told that instead, they should let their children, and family members whom they trust serve them.

It was also advised that people should always be good to those close to them, adding that Quran and Hadith enjoin Muslims on this, and that “anyone, who is benefitting from you will never want you hurt. Treat them equally like your children. Do not segregate. Do not let them see themselves as domestic servants.”

People were told to always double check, avoid disclosing when they bring huge amount of money home.

“There is evil temptation in money to those who cannot control their criminal drive. Be prayerful. Learn a lot of security tactics and be your own Chief Security Officer (CSO) Install CCTV and intruder alarm.

“Control direct access to your room. Let there be a barrier such that you can quickly alert security agencies whenever an intruder is making attempt to break in.

“Be prayerful. Be prayerful. Be prayerful,” said a source.
