Last week killing of a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Prince Chidi Iheme, an older brother of popular Nollywood Actor, Osita Iheme (Paw Paw) in Ubomiri in Mbaitoli LGA in Imo State has been described as the saddest news of the year for the party.

Recall that Iheme was shot by unknown gunmen after an APC rally.

The shooting was captured in a virile video that has elicited condemnation from many Nigerians.

Commenting on the incident, a chieftain of the APC, Dr. George Agbakahi said that Iheme’s death “is the worst and saddest news of the year for our great party and my dear state as man’s most wicked and arrogant enemy struck again in my immediate community of Ubomiri in Mbaitoli LGA.

“Unfortunately, on this occasion, it has snatched our amiable, committed and dedicated party stakeholder and supporter who was an aspirant for Mbaitoli LGA chairmanship primaries under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.”

Also reacting to the murder of Prince Chidi Iheme, Barrister Jesutega Onokpasa, a member of the Media and Publicity Directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council, called for the extradition and prosecution of one Simon Ekpa, a member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who he said lives in Finland and instigating violence in South East, Nigeria.

“This fellow, Simon Ekpa of IPOB, a man said to be living in faraway Finland, is nothing but an utter clown, a total thug, a degenerate sociopath, serial killer and mass murderer.

“I do not even believe his case warrants mere extradition or rendition back to Nigeria.

“I think he should be quietly declared and categorized an unconscionable threat to national security and promptly taken out right there, where he lives in comfort and security in Finland, while turning his native Iboland into a blood soaked killing field,” Onokpasa said.

Agbakahi stated further that “the shocking news of the sudden departure of Prince Chidi Iheme, the older brother of the popular Nollywood Actor, Osita Iheme (Paw Paw) yesterday came as a rude shock to the APC family in Mbaitoli LGA and has created a deep vaccum in the community at large.”

He said that “Mr. Iheme was shot by unknown gunmen after an APC rally for a House of Representatives candidate in Ubomiri Primary School, which is just about 200 meters from my country home, who said they were enforcing the 5 day sit at home order. According to verified intel,

“He drove with a huge APC flag in his car and when the gun men stopped him and asked him if he was an APC supporter, he answered in the affirmative before an altercation ensued which resulted in senseless shooting.

“The State Commissioner for Mines and Sold Minerals, who was a passenger in his car as at the time of the ugly incident and was in my house at Abuja last week escaped with some injuries and is fast recovering.”

According to him; “this is the unfortunate ugly situation we are dealing with in Imo State and the south East in general.

“The resurgence of unknown gunmen and kidnapping perpetrated by enemies of the state under the guise of IPOB has no doubt caused more harm to our people.

“This is obviously an attack on our democracy in a bid to distablize our mandate in delivering our votes to Asiwaju, come 2023.

“Nonetheless and not withstanding these many challenges, we shall remain resilient and resolute in the support of our principal who we believe is the only candidate that has the capacity and wisdom to lead this country to greater heights. My prayers and thoughts are with the Iheme family, Mabaitoli LGA and the entire Imo state APC for this huge loss and pray that his soul rest in peace. Amen.

“I also by this urge us all to endeavor to remember the bereaved family, South East in your prayers and the APC family therein. We shall surely emerge victorious at the end.

“God bless Media and Publicity Directorate, PCC.
God bless APC, God bless Imo State
God bless Nigeria.”
