Mopamuro Stakeholders Commend Hon. Bello, Task Mangal Cement On Security

Stakeholders in Mopamuro Local Government Area (LGA) of Kogi State have commended the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ademola Bello, for his outstanding efforts in sustaining peace and security in the area.
The commendation was made yesterday during a strategic security meeting involving key officials, royal fathers and grassroots security operatives.
The meeting, held behind closed doors, brought together the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo; the Member representing Mopamuro in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Olawumi Jacob; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Culture and Integration, Hon. Moses Sunday David; First Class Traditional Rulers; and Heads of Hunters’ groups across the LGA.
The stakeholders reviewed various security strategies after receiving detailed briefings from the Alamuro of Amuro, His Royal Majesty, Oba Alfred Modupe Ayedogbon, and the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ademola Bello.
The focus of the meeting was to maintain Mopamuro’s long-standing reputation as one of the safest Local Government Areas in Kogi State.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, said the stakeholders unanimously applauded Hon. Bello for his proactive security interventions.
He noted that the stakeholders resolved to further strengthen the security architecture at the grassroots, assuring residents of renewed commitment to the safety of lives and property.
The Commissioner expressed concern over the “rising incidents of insecurity occasioned by the influx of unknown individuals following the establishment of the Mangal Cement Company near the LgA.” He disclosed that the youths had been prevented from staging protests to avoid a breakdown of law and order.
“Inasmuch as we cherish development, we won’t condone any threat to the peace of Mopamuro.
“We call on the management of Mangal Cement Company to begin to invest meaningfully in the security architecture of Mopamuro. It’s not enough to cart away our resources without contributing to the safety and development of the area”. Fanwo said.
While acknowledging the few interventions made by the company, he urged its management to make more concrete contributions to supporting security and community development in the interest of both the company and the people.
The stakeholders also urged traditional rulers and landowners to desist from allocating land to criminal elements, saying the law will henceforth take its full course.
They hailed the hunters for their dedication to securing rural communities and assured them of enhanced support to strengthen their operations.
