In a devastating air disaster today, an Air India flight en route from Ahmedabad, India to Gatwick Airport in London crashed, leaving a tragic toll in its wake. Out of the 242 passengers and crew on board, only one person  miraculously survived.

The sole survivor, whose identity is being withheld pending family notification, was reportedly seated in 11A. Rescuers describe it as nothing short of a miracle, as the survivor was found conscious amid the wreckage and is currently receiving urgent medical attention.

Rescue and recovery efforts are ongoing at the crash site. So far, 204 bodies have been recovered from the debris, as emergency teams continue the painstaking work of locating all who were aboard.

The manifest of the ill-fated flight indicates it was carrying a diverse group of passengers: 169 were Indian nationals, 63 were British citizens, 7 Portuguese, and 1 Canadian.

Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the crash. Aviation experts, along with international investigators, are expected to launch a full probe into the incident.

Families of the passengers have been notified, and grief-stricken relatives have begun gathering at airports and crisis centers. Both Indian and UK governments have pledged full support for the investigation and assistance to the victims’ families.

This tragic incident marks one of the worst aviation disasters in recent years, and the emergence of a single survivor provides a rare glimmer of hope in an otherwise heart-wrenching scene
