Lagos Lawyer, Ologun, Bags NIPR Lifetime Achievement Award

A constitutional lawyer and national development advocate, Mr Jide Ologun, has been conferred with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Ologun, a public affairs analyst and human resource management professional, received the award on Friday at the 10th Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA 2025), held at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
Speaking after receiving the award, Ologun, a former Chairman of NIPR in Lagos State and a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership Coaching and Strategy, described the honour as a motivation to further contribute to nation building through public relations practice.
He said LaPRIGA 2025 marked a decade of celebrating excellence, innovation and professionalism in Nigeria’s public relations industry.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of NIPR, Dr Samuel Ayetutu, described LaPRIGA as a symbol of collective vision and professional commitment.
“Ten years on, LaPRIGA stands tall as a testament to what collective passion and professional excellence can achieve. Tonight is not just a celebration; it is a reaffirmation of excellence as the enduring value of our profession,” Ayetutu said.
He noted that the awards had evolved into what many practitioners now regard as the “Oscar of the Public Relations Industry in Nigeria.”
Ayetutu commended members of the planning and selection committees for organising a credible and transparent milestone event.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Selection Committee, Mr Chido Nwakama, said the 2025 edition received over 100 entries across 19 award categories, reflecting growing recognition of the awards and improved professional standards.
Nwakama urged practitioners to embrace peer review and professional validation, describing them as critical to the growth and credibility of the profession.
The event featured awards for outstanding individuals, agencies and organisations whose works demonstrated strategic insight, creativity, ethical standards and measurable impact.
Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Dr Joseph Okonma, Mr Jide Ologun and Mr Kayode Yeku, while Service to the Lagos Chapter of NIPR Awards went to Mrs Thelma Okoh and Mr Muyiwa Akande.
Other special recognitions were given to organisations and individuals for contributions to public relations practice, governance, broadcasting and marketing communications.
The 10th LaPRIGA ceremony concluded with networking and entertainment, as participants reaffirmed their commitment to advancing ethical, innovative and impactful public relations practice in Lagos State and Nigeria.
The event was themed “Nox Excellentia – Night of Excellence.”
