Kayode Fayemi Denies Link With ADC

Former governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has dismissed claims linking him to the formation of the new African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition alongside former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
In a statement signed on Sunday by Mallam Ahmad Sajoh, Head of Fayemi’s Media Office, the former governor denied the allegation describing it as baseless and lacking credible evidence.
According to Sajoh, no reputable media report or verified video exists showing Amaechi making such a claim. He suggested the remarks may have been fabricated or distorted, cautioning the public against manufactured controversies aimed at creating political mischief.
“Dr. Fayemi remains a committed member and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State,” the statement read.
“He has consistently affirmed his dedication to the APC and is working to address its challenges and promote its progressive ideals.”
The former governor has also publicly endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for re-election under the APC platform, further underscoring his loyalty to the party.
While acknowledging that Fayemi engages in discussions with associates across political, ethnic, and religious divides on issues of national development, the media office stressed that such interactions should not be mistaken for a defection from the APC.
The statement explained that Fayemi’s reduced public visibility at the national level is due to his role as a visiting professor at King’s College London and his work at the Amandla Institute, though he remains active in Ekiti politics.
The public was advised to treat any news about Fayemi with caution, particularly if its source is solely social media.
