K1 De Ultimate In Airport Incident As FAAN Investigates Breach Of Aviation Safety Protocols

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed an incident involving renowned Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, at the domestic terminal of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Monday, August 5, 2025.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, FAAN disclosed that the confrontation occurred during boarding for ValueJet flight VK 201 to Lagos. The musician reportedly attempted to board the flight with an unidentified liquid substance in his possession—later determined to be alcohol—despite being warned by Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel and the aircraft’s Flight Captain.
FAAN noted that under the Nigeria Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP), aligned with international protocols set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO Annex 17), passengers are prohibited from carrying liquids exceeding 100ml through airport security unless properly declared and medically justified.
“Despite being informed of these regulations,” FAAN stated, “the passenger declined to comply and, in the process, allegedly poured the contents of the flask on a ValueJet security officer.” When the pilot intervened, she was also met with resistance.
Following the conclusion of boarding and closure of the aircraft door, K1 reportedly refused to vacate the front of the aircraft. He was eventually escorted away by the AVSEC Crime Unit for questioning and later released pending further investigation.
The Authority emphasized that it remains fully committed to upholding safety and security protocols across all Nigerian airports and will not tolerate any conduct that jeopardizes operational integrity.
“This matter is under thorough investigation, and all individuals found culpable will be held accountable in line with the law,” the statement read.
FAAN also used the opportunity to reaffirm its dedication to professionalism, passenger safety, and compliance with aviation regulations, stressing that no individual, regardless of status, is above the rules governing civil aviation.
