President Goodluck Jonathan made a surprise appearance at a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) branch at Banana Island, Lagos, South West Nigeria penultimate Sunday.

According to the President at the event, he was supposed to worship at another church on Lagos Island but had to make a detour when he learnt that the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enock Adeboye, is officiating at the RCCG, Olive Tree Parish, Banana Island.

Speaking further at the church service, President Jonathan said, “I thank the RCCG family for declaring the 100 day fast and I am here because I heard Daddy GO will be at this particular parish. I wanted to worship at Marina before. I will leave now before our friends accuse me of campaigning in the church. All of you praying for Nigeria God bless you and please don’t relent in your prayers for this country”.

Pastor Adeboye assured the President that the RCCG family will continue to pray for Nigeria. “Let the president be assured that we will continue to pray for Nigeria and peace will reign,” Daddy GO said.

The service had high profile attendance: the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire; the state First Lady, Dame Abimbola Fashola; and former First Lady of Cross River State, Mrs. Onari Duke were present.
