I’ll Only Join Party Ready To Offer Me Presidential Or VP Ticket — Kwankwaso
Former Kano State governor and national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Saturday made his position clear ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking to supporters in Kano, Kwankwaso said he is open to joining a political coalition or merging with another party but only on one condition: the party must be willing to offer him either the presidential or vice-presidential ticket.
According to him, any alliance that does not recognize his political weight and structure is not worth considering.
This statement comes amid growing speculation about possible talks involving major political platforms, including the ADC and the ruling APC, as political heavyweights position themselves ahead of 2027.
Kwankwaso, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the NNPP, remains one of the most influential political figures in Northern Nigeria, with a strong grassroots following.
