Hon. Oyeshina Oyedeji Reports Major Developmental Strides Across Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency

Hon. Oyeshina Oyedeji, Member of the House of Representatives for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, has expressed profound gratitude to his constituents while presenting a comprehensive report of his achievements in office. In a detailed message released to the public, Oyedeji thanked the people for their trust and reiterated his commitment to their progress and well-being.

He highlighted a range of development initiatives across sectors including education, agriculture, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and employment. In the education sector, Oyedeji awarded scholarships to 84 students across all 42 wards at SAF Polytechnic, distributed approximately 15,000 exercise books and 1,200 mathematical sets to primary and secondary school pupils, and constructed new classroom blocks at ADS Primary School in Eyeele, Okeho; ADS Basic School in Ijio, Iwajowa; and Migrant Farm Basic School in Budo Fulani, Igbojaye, Itesiwaju. An ICT training centre was also established at ADS High School, Okeho through a NITDA partnership, while office equipment was donated to the National Open University and Oyo State College of Health Science and Hygiene, both in Okeho.

On agricultural development, Oyedeji provided subsidized tractor services to local farmers at 25% of the regular price and distributed 700 bags of DPK fertilizer. Additionally, pesticides and herbicides were distributed to about 2,400 farmers across the constituency, and 3km of farm roads were graded to ease access to farmlands.

Infrastructure projects under his tenure include the construction of modern toilet facilities at Kara Market in Iseyin and the Okeho Town Hall, the installation of over 250 solar-powered streetlights at strategic locations, a modern primary healthcare centre in Okeho, and a solar-powered borehole at Imoba, Okeho.

In youth empowerment, 80 young people were trained in software engineering and mobile app development and were provided with laptops. Another 12 youths received training in video editing. Cash grants totaling ?18 million were disbursed to over 460 individuals, including persons with disabilities. A women’s cooperative society was also established with a startup fund of ?2 million to support petty trading. Furthermore, 50 business names were successfully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, with another 150 underway. Vocational equipment, including 50 mechanical toolboxes, 50 sewing machines, and 30 hair dryers, along with additional tailoring and hairdressing equipment, were distributed. Skills acquisition programs in shoemaking and tailoring are ongoing, with plans to provide starter kits and grants to participants upon completion.

In the area of job creation, Hon. Oyedeji facilitated employment opportunities for constituents at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and secured five appointments into the Nigeria Police Force. He also lobbied for job placements in various Oyo State agencies including OYRTMA, TESCOM, the Civil Service Commission, Local Government Service Commission, and the Hospital Management Board, while continuing efforts to secure federal job slots.

Notably, he also announced the progress of a bill he sponsored for the establishment of a Safeguarding and Disclosure Agency, which has successfully passed first reading in the National Assembly.

Looking ahead, Oyedeji revealed plans for the construction of another six-classroom block in Iseyin Local Government, renovation of additional school buildings, expansion of solar-powered borehole projects, and erosion control works in affected areas of the constituency.

In closing, he reaffirmed his dedication to delivering greater dividends of democracy and pledged to continue engaging with the people to ensure their voices are represented effectively. He thanked the constituents for their prayers, trust, and support, promising to redouble his efforts in building a more prosperous and inclusive constituency.
