Group Accuses Ajeromi-Ifelodun Chairmanship Candidate of Age Falsification, Perjury

A political group, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Progressive Associates, has accused the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government chairmanship candidate, Mr. Akindipe Olalekan Olu, of age falsification and inconsistent claims of indigeneship.

In a statement signed by the group’s convener, Mr. Olatunji Oluwa, the group alleged that Mr. Akindipe provided conflicting information in official documents submitted to various authorities.

According to the group, Mr. Akindipe claimed to be an indigene of Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Lagos State, in his Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) nomination form. However, in his All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form, he reportedly stated Badagry, Lagos State, as his place of origin. Further inconsistencies were noted in his national biometric records and international passport, where he allegedly claimed Ode Remo, Ogun State, as his place of origin.

“These inconsistencies amount to impersonation, false declaration, and perjury. Lying under oath makes him unfit to hold public office,” the statement read.

The group has called on the leadership of the APC to immediately investigate the allegations against Mr. Akindipe ahead of the forthcoming local government elections scheduled for Saturday.
