German Foundation, Konrad Adenauer Organizes Capacity Building Training For Ministerial Aides

The Aides of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the aegis of MANET have successfully concluded a two-day capacity building programme sponsored by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), a renowned German political leadership foundation.
Ministerial Aides Network (MANET)— led by Mr. Faniyi Fatogun, the Special Adviser on Strategy to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, is a strategic body established to deepen inter-agency collaboration, enhance coordination, and strengthen governance delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The impactful training programme, held at the Aso Hall, Abuja Continental Hotel, commenced on Wednesday, 19th November, 2025 and brought together participants from federal ministries. The aides, grouped into two batches, engaged in intensive sessions tailored to equip them with deeper understanding and improved capabilities in critical areas of government operations.
These were contained in a statement signed by the Chairman, Media and Publicity of the group, Tunde Moshood, dated Saturday November 21, 2025.
In his opening address, the Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, His Excellency Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, CON, ably represented by Mr. Sampson Ebimaro, Director of International Co-operation Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, underscored the importance of continuous learning for government aides. He emphasized that Ministerial Aides play a crucial role in supporting policy formulation, facilitating administrative efficiency, and ensuring seamless inter-ministerial coordination.
Speaking on behalf of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung’s Resident Representative, Dr. Tobias Ruettershoff, Mr. Samson Adeniran welcomed participants and reiterated KAS’ commitment to strengthening democratic governance and public sector leadership in Nigeria. He noted that empowering Ministerial Aides with modern tools and knowledge is essential for enhancing the quality of governance and sustaining the nation’s development agenda.
The Co-ordinating Chairman of MANET, Mr. Faniyi Fatogun, also addressed the participants, commending KAS for its consistent support toward institutional capacity development. He highlighted the significance of harnessing the collective potential of Ministerial Aides to advance the goals of the current administration through improved collaboration and professional competence.
Throughout the two-day programme, participants received in-depth training on public policy documents, budgeting processes, government reporting systems, and other essential elements that drive effective governance. The sessions were designed to improve analytical skills, strengthen leadership capacity, and deepen understanding of policy implementation mechanisms within the public sector.
Konrad Adenauer Stiftung reaffirmed that the initiative aligns with its long-standing mission of promoting good governance, leadership excellence, and institutional strengthening across the globe.
The training concluded with renewed commitment by participants to apply the knowledge gained in supporting their respective ministries while fostering stronger ties within the MANET network for improved national development outcomes.
