Gateman Arraigned In Court For Raping Male Colleague

A thirty-eight-year-old gateman appeared before the Abule Egba magistrates court on Tuesday in Lagos to defend himself on allegation of rape made against him by his colleague.
The accused, Sali Malu (not the two gay pictured), who lives at 31, Peace Estate, Ipaja, a suburb of Lagos allegedly drugged the food he offered the victim (name withheld) in his house and raped him.
According to the prosecutor, Racheal Williams, “The complainant (names withheld), who is also a gatekeeper in the estate, went to the room of the accused to charge his phone.
“The accused gave him food to eat. The man did not know that the food had been laced with drug.
“After eating the food, he slept off only to wake up to the reality that he had been raped.
“When the complainant woke up, his anus was paining him and there was some left-over semen in it” she told the court.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge of raping a fellow gatekeeper (names withheld) and breach of peace.
Williams said the offences were committed on March 23 in the house of the accused.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravened Section 166 (d) and 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Ruling on the bail application of the accused, the magistrate, Tajudeen Elias, granted the accused a bail of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case has been adjourned till May 5 for mention.
