Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, a former chief press secretary to late governor Lamidi Adeshina of Oyo State between 1999 and 2003 and a former chairman, Oluyole Local Government, is currently the Director of Media and Publicity of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
While speaking on Saturday with Seun Owoseeni on Yes 101.7Fm tagged : ” Big Deal” Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, congratulated the Group Managing Director of Yes FM for contributing his quota to the growth of journalism in the country.

Why do you think the APC is different from other political parties?

When you come in contact with organized people today in Nigeria, the party they will recognise is the APC, and we have commenced scientific campaigns across Nigeria.

There are some aggrieved members of the APC, who are opposed to the decision of the party to field Muslims as both presidential and vice presidential candidates, what is the party doing about this?

People would want to paint a bad picture, when they are not comfortable with the success of the party. The issue of Muslim-Muslim ticket is a political strategy that can work for us, we have gone beyond that. I am a good example, I travel every December to celebrate Christmas with my twin brother; Taiwo Olaosebikan. My wife is also a Christian, we are more developed in Yorubaland, they are just pulling us down with the issue of Muslim-Muslim ticket. We should not bother about that. The wife of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). Tinubu has mentored, and developed many people, there are Muslims and Christians among them. We are civilized people in Yoruba land. It is not about the party, but individuals.

Do you think Nigerians will vote for the APC in 2023 despite the current economic hardship in the country under your party?

Wherever we are in Nigeria today, we discuss democracy. In 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari pleaded with Nigerians to vote for him and the majority voted for him. Now, Buhari has done his best, we rate him high in terms of infrastructure, but he did not do well in some areas. But now APC has brought other candidates; Tinubu and Shettima would be on the ballot and you can as well check the attributes of Tinubu and what he has done so far.
As we can see, Tinubu is competent, reliable and he is ready for the job. He would do it beyond imagination. We need strong institutions, not strong individuals. Whether you like it or not, Tinubu is the best for Nigeria in 2023.

Is it justifiable for the APC to rule having taking us through this worrisome part for close to eight years now?

We are passionate about Nigeria, we want a functional country. Today is November 12, 2022 and we are discussing about moving the nation forward. Whatever your perception about where we are today in Nigeria, we are already there. The main question is how can we move forward from where we are today, that should be the bone of contention. Moving forward, we have to get the best. If you convince me about a particular candidate, I would definitely support his party. It is not about sentiments, but it is someone that can win and deliver.

So you mean the Presidential Candidate of the NNPP, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankaso cannot deliver?

We are talking about Nigeria, not Kano State. We are in need of political solutions, which we have to sort out with political issues and the person that can do it must have gone round Nigeria and build bridges across the country.

Don’t you think the APC governorship candidate will not win the 2023 gubernatorial election in Oyo State?

This is not true. the biggest, and organized party in Oyo State is the APC and this is the party that has put up presidential and gubernatorial campaign committees and has 5000 members in the committee.
This party has the executive in place in 51 wards in Oyo State, party members are working round the clock in our party. Some parties do not have candidates across the state, but we are the strongest party. The goal is to move Oyo State forward. The APC governorship candidate in the state is ready to serve us better.

Were you convinced to support the APC?

No one convinced me, I chose to join the party, I put my best in whatever I lay my hands upon, and Allah has been good to me. We have goals for a greater Oyo State and be proud of the state. Some people fought for the state, while they lost their jobs, properties because of democracy. Senator Teslim Folarin is passionate about the grassroots. The masses would enjoy in the rural areas, and he would not cripple local governments in Oyo State as it is today. Giving a local government 10 million naira for entertainment is not an achievement in our government.

Can you substantiate the use of 10 million for entertainment by local governments in the state?

Of course, they do, N10 million was used for entertainment. Take for instance, champagne gold is sold for three hundred and fifty thousand naira. So giving a local government 10 million naira should not be a big deal to them. The youth should rise and do “operation where is our money?” They should match to their local governments and ask their chairmen about the funds.

Mr President has tried in terms of infrastructure, are you not also giving it to the governor of Oyo State on infrastructure?

Yes, if Seyi Makinde has tried, then he deserves second term. It is not about party, but individuals.

Has Governor Seyi Makinde not tried for the people of Oyo State?

Governor Seyi Makinde and his infrastructural programmes are designed to achieve basic things; to enrich himself. If you are not prepared or capable of governance, you will definitely mess up. The government is making things difficult for the business class in Oyo State. Are you doing the infrastructure to lift Oyo people or devalue them?
A particular contractor called; “Peculiar Ultimate,” is handling the projects of Oyo State, and it should not be like that. The principle of contract is that a nation or state should strengthen his own people. Leadership is a deliberate plan of lifting people. When Seyi Makinde was elected as governor, he declared an asset of 48 billion naira. A governor would go out of his way to make sure that things are simplified for the people of his state, so that they can make progress in life. We have so much poverty in Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has not released funds to local governments.

What have been the achievements of Senator Teslim Folarin since 2003?

Senator Teslim Folarin returned to Nigeria from abroad in 2002, he contested and became the Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the age of 39 and it was an achievement for him. Senator Teslim Folarin displayed vision as a youth, he spent four years and he was found capable, worthy, and he was chosen as a leader of the senate at age 43.

He failed to win the governorship seat of Oyo State in 2015, and he is contesting for the office in 2023?

The basic function of the National Assembly is law making. Teslim Folarin did well in office, so he was promoted to be the Senate Leader. His good works and visions would start manifesting soon.
