First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Hails Late Chief Adekunle Ojora As Beacon Of Religious Harmony During Condolence Visit

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the family of late industrialist, Chief Adekunle Ojora, describing him as a devout Muslim whose life was defined by humility, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to religious harmony.

The First Lady made the remarks during a visit to the Ojora family residence in Ikoyi, Lagos, where she was received by the deceased’s daughter, Dr. Toyin Saraki, and her husband, former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki.

Speaking on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and herself, Senator Oluremi Tinubu expressed deep sympathy to the widow, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, and the entire family.

“You have always been in my mind and that of the President. We cannot forget him. He was always there with us as a family. This is also my family,” the First Lady said.

“We will miss him his wise counsel, his support, and the great role he played in times past.”

Commending the matriarch of the family, the First Lady noted that the enduring bond between the late Chief Ojora and his wife was an inspiration to many.

“Your relationship as a couple was an inspiration to many of us. We see you and him, and many wish to have that sort of bond,” she added.

Recalling several encounters with the late industrialist at church services, despite his devotion to Islam, Senator Tinubu emphasized that Chief Ojora’s life was a powerful testament to peaceful coexistence and interfaith respect.

She stated that the family has every reason to be proud of the legacies of the late Otunba of Lagos, who distinguished himself not only in business but also as a bridge-builder across religious lines.

Members of the Ojora family, led by the matriarch, expressed appreciation for the visit and offered prayers for the continued success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady.

Late Chief Adekunle Ojora passed away on January 28, 2026, at the age of 93 and was buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
