Fasuyi Accuses Natasha Akpoti Of Wrongly Alleging Fayemi Of Selling Ajaokuta Steel

Senator Cyril Fasuyi, senator representing Ekiti north, has said that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan once accused former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, of selling Ajaokuta Steel Rolling Mill.
Fasuyi made the comment during Wednesday’s plenary, moments after Akpoti-Uduaghan, lawmaker representing Kogi central, submitted a petition against Senate President Godswill Akpabio over alleged sexual harassment.
Fasuyi said that Akpoti-Uduaghan accused Fayemi, a former minister of solid minerals during former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, of selling the Ajaokuta Steel Mill.
During the session, Fasuyi said Fayemi would be submitting a petition in response to the allegation.
“My President, I want to bring up a case that happened when my former governor was a minister of the federal republic,” Fasuyi said, before his microphone went out.
“Mr President, I want to say this that my former governor is going to bring a petition on the allegation that Senator Natasha that he (Fayemi) sold Ajaokuta Steel Mill.
“And if what is happening about character, then we have to expose the character of the petitioner.
“Mr President, I am coming officially with a petition on behalf of my former governor, that he sold Ajaokuta Steel Mill when he was a minister. And Senator Natasha was the one that alleged as of that time.
“And as of today, Mr President, Ajaokuta still belongs to the Federal Government. I have just said this as a notice, sir.”
Akpabio, who presided over plenary, noted Fasuyi’s point of order.
